Windows Firewall problem

March 14, 2006

I’ve been getting an error “You’re firewall is disabled”. When I try to enabled it on the Control Panel’s Windows Security feature, It says it cannot enabled it. When I tried to open the Windows Firewall icon from the Control Panel, I received an error “Due to an unindentified problem, Windows cannot display Windows Firewall settings”.

First that came up my mind that my computer may have a virus, I scanned it, using AVG but found nothing. Tried Ad-Aware, still nothing. I tried googling the internet and found this :

http://windowsxp.mvps.org/sharedaccess.htm

It works! and I don’t have to reinstall my system. , it seems that a registry setting was missing, I don’t know why, need to investigate. If you’re encountering the same problem try it first, if it doesn’t work maybe reinstalling will.
